How do they relate?

The "Theater auf dem Hornwerk" can be found in the city of Nienburg (Mühlentorsweg 2).

The theatre is the property of the town of Nienburg. For that reason, the council of Nienburg has many duties relating to the theatre, for example engaging personnel, setting up programs, buying stage plays, organising supplementary stage plays, making a calendar listing theatre events.

I will describe these tasks here:
 
 

The "Theater auf dem Hornwerk" is a "guest performance theatre". This means that neither actors, nor stage directors nor other staff are employed. The council of Nienburg only employs a concierge, cleaners and some auxiliaries.

The council buys stage plays on the international market and "sells" these stage plays to its citizens. That means, the council buys stage plays from touring theatre companies, the citizens buy the theatre ticket, and the council takes the entrance fee to pay the actors.
Apart from the normal theatre programme, there is a special event program including, for example, a New Year’s Eve ballet.

These duties of the council do not have to be performed by the apprentices directly, but if you work in the department which is responsible for the theatre, you get an enormous insight into these duties, for example, you can cooperate to draw up a theatre programme, organise the seating arrangements, etc. This work is very interesting, because you are involved with different people. Sometimes you can also suggest your own ideas . . .
